2024 RCA AGM + Notice of Special Resolution

Our 2024 annual general meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 25, at 6:30 p.m., at the Knights of Pythias Hall. We’ll share highlights from the past year, preview what we’re planning for 2025, and hold elections for new RCA directors. The agenda will be sent out in the November newsletter.

We have five positions on the Board of Directors up for election:

• Secretary/Vice-president

• Four directors-at-large

We have incumbents running for most positions, but we are actively looking for someone to help run events, and welcome anyone passionate about the RCA to run for a seat on the board. This is your best opportunity to have a say in the future of your Association.

Notice of Special Resolution

With the adoption of Hivepass as our membership management software, the RCA must make some minor changes to its bylaws. At the 2024 AGM, members will be asked to vote on the following Special Resolution:

THAT Article I(2) of the RCA bylaws be amended to: “Revelstoke Cycling Association memberships expire after one year,” from: “Revelstoke Cycling Association memberships expire annually December 31st.”

AND

THAT Article VI(4) be amended to “All Annual Members in good standing have an equal right to make and vote on motions, but must be present at the AGM to do so,” from: “All members in good standing have an equal right to make and vote on motions, but must be present at the AGM to do so.”

The first part of this resolution reflects the fact memberships now expire one year after the date of purchase and not at the end of the calendar year. The second part is to restrict weekly members from being able to vote on RCA matters.
