RCA Fundraiser at Mt. Begbie Brewing

Mt. Begbie Brewing is hosting a fundraiser for the RCA on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 5-9 p.m. Join us for fun and games, live music, and more.

How fast can you go without pedals? We’ll be hosting the Revelstoke Run Bike Championship, sponsored by Transition. Kids races start at 6 p.m. and adult races are at 8 p.m.

There will also be live music by John Richards, a raffle and prizes, and, of course, lots of tasty Tail Whip for sale.

Did you know a portion of all sales of Tail Whip goes to the RCA? This collaboration between Mt. Begbie and Skookum has raised almost $5,000 for the RCA since its inception in 2022. At the fundraiser, $1 from every Tail Whip sold will go to the RCA.

Go By Bike Week

Did you know Revelstoke has the highest rate of cycling per capita of any community in BC? That data is collected during Go By Bike Week is hugely important for getting more cycling infrastructure built in our community. We encourage everyone to get on your bikes this week and track your rides. Not only is it great exercise, but the data collected will help make Revelstoke even friendlier for cyclists. Register and log your rides at GoByBikeBC.ca.

Intro to Bikepacking Overnighter

IMPORTANT NOTICE (May 31): BC Hydro is prohibiting people from camping at 12 Mile right now due to rising water levels on the Arrow Reservoir, so we have regrettably decided to postpone the campout until a future date.

Join a group bikepacking overnighter down to the 12 Mile Flats. We’ll meet at Centennial Park and ride down the Flats to 12 Mile. This will be a chill ride that will hopefully set the stage for longer bikepacking meet-ups over the summer.

RCA Bike Swap

Come find a new set of wheels for summer or get your pre-loved bikes out of the garage and into a new home. Everything from well-loved townies to last season’s mountain bikes is up for grabs at the bike swap!

There will also be a small selection of new past-season and older-model gear and accessories from local bike shops available for sale. This is your chance to get a great deal and keep this gear out of the landfill.

We’ll have bike mechanics on site to make any minor repairs, but please only bring bikes in working order to sell or swap. If you can ride it to the swap, you can sell it!

All proceeds support the Revelstoke Cycling Association.

THE FINE PRINT: Commission fee of 15% of the sale price of each bike will be donated to the RCA up to a maximum of $100. Payment is available via cash, credit or debit card (money will be provided back to sellers via cash or e-transfer). Money needs to be collected by 2 p.m. and unsold bikes need to be picked up by 2 p.m. or they will be donated.

We have six positions up for election:

- Four directors-at-large

We are actively recruiting a new treasurer and someone to help run our Fivers and other events. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a director and/or have questions about any of the positions.
